Crooked Christmas came about when Brandon was paging through Christmas playlists and not hearing what he wanted to hear. He decided to write what he wanted to hear and invited Jaryn Friesen to co-write. The song is about growing up and realizing your family isn't perfect, being thankful anyway and knowing the best Christmas is the current one.

Lyrics

Snows falls soft on my prairie home
Feeling glad that I ain’t alone
I’m watching her trim the tree just right
A little more to the left, now she’s fussing with lights

Out of a box comes a tree topper
Crooked little angel, she’s a show stopper
Now the snow has covered my boundary lines
What I have is enough and I’m doing fine

Now things just ain’t the same
Since my parents called it quits
I guess that I’m afraid
It won’t feel like it did

I hear the fireplace raging
Charlie Brown record playing
That busted angel’s on my tree
And from underneath the lights
Comes a peaceful little sigh
She’s lying fast asleep
I miss my crooked little Christmas
But it’s never been as good as us three

Brother phoned up three weeks before
Wondering if cash or presents mean more
He broke down a bit and told me straight
I kind of wish it was 2008

I feel the fireplace raging
Charlie Brown record playing
That busted angel’s on my tree
Oh from underneath the lights
Comes a perfect little sigh
She’s lying fast asleep
I miss my crooked little Christmas
But it’s never been as good as us three

I feel the fireplace fading
Charlie Brown finished playing
That busted little angel’s on my tree
And from underneath the lights
Comes that perfect little sigh
She’s looking up at me
I miss my crooked little Christmas
But it’s never been as good as us three
